Scholarships Available in Ohio

Stipends and scholarships available for STEM students with disabilities

Ohio's STEM Ability Alliance is recruiting students with disabilities who are majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degrees to participate in student learning communities, mentoring, ability advising programs and internship opportunities. Students who are enrolled in OSAA programs are also eligible to apply and compete for Choose Ohio First Scholarships, available Winter Quarter, 2010. I do wish that there was a federal grant for students with disabilities attending college with low incomes, regardless of major. Most students with disabilities who attend college cannot work and go to college at the same time, which in the end leaves them with an enormous amount of debt. And SSI doesn't really begin to make a dent in college costs.
